I just went to a game last night. They now have Additon listed as 6′4″ and 205lbs. That seems much more likely. The website must have height and weight from last season or an old scouting report.

I talked to Hill before the game last night. He said he is still 6 more weeks from returning to the lineup. That makes it mid August. They waited a week before they did surgery. He also told me the pin comes out in 3 weeks. I was hoping he would be back sooner.

On another note Greene has his average higher than Martinez now with more power and speed. I can’t figure Martinez out. The ball is just not jumping off his bat like it did last year. Alot of popup’s and ground ball double plays.

In my opinion, Steve Hill has been the most impressive position player thus far from the 2007 draft.

Did anybody see that Mark Diapoules got promoted from QC to Palm Beach.

I think Ivan Castro has been around a couple of years so I assume he isn’t that highly thought of, but I do see he is putting up good numbers.

Interesting tidbit from today’s Birdland at Stltoday:

“Mitch Harris, the Naval Academy grad and 13th-round pick, remains a possibility even as he’s started his training and prepared to report for active duty. ”

Not sure how likely a possibility - but good news none-the-less.

How about “Daryl Jones, who just turned 21 last week”? If, like me, you occasionally check the intoxicating Davenport Translations of young Mr. Jones, bear in mind he’s being graded as a 21-year-old—and if he were one *week* younger, he’d be just 20 in baseball years…in which case his Peak Translation would be through the roof. A month ago, I’d have said trade him while his stock is up, but now he’s borderline untouchable for me.

Nice to see the 17-year-old Freddy Parejo garner his first couple of hits for Batavia. If he can hold his own in the NY-Penn League at that age, he becomes a top 10-15 Redbird prospect. At the least.
