Don't know he profiles at 2B. He's a tweener and I can't figure out where he plays. Just not quick enough to play in middle. Curtis is slower than molasses in summer. Don’t know he profiles at 2B. He is a scrapper and will do whatever it takes to win. He is a great leader in the locker room and on the field. Plus he should be moving to second base where he will excell. He was moved to 3rd at UCLA because his freshman year UCLA had Sean Smith, a senior, at second. He took over 3rd for Brett McMillan because Brett wasnt getting it done with the bat and then UCLA got Alden Carrithers, a stellar college second baseman. I say Jermaine was a great pick in the 5th round. You all will be happy. One thing Jermaine does is leave it all on the field every night. He is a scrapper and will do whatever it takes to win. Well, he didn't get drafted quite as high as we had hoped, but the Florida Marlins eventually picked Barrett Serrato in the 48th round. I have a feeling he's going to Purdue. Anyway, I was surprised to notice the Cardinals drafted Serrato's best friend, Danny Jimenez from St. Charles, IL. I've seen Danny pitch once. It was a cool, rainy day about a week and a half ago in the Sectional Semi-final against Wheaton North who just lost today in the State Semi-finals. Danny (Lefty) has great stuff and can hit mid to upper 80s. He locates well, although he struggled with deep counts the day I saw him even though Wheaton North couldn't touch him (he left a 0-0 game and as soon as he came out the flood gates opened). He's a 4 pitch pitcher and can throw any of them for a strike. He's kind of skinny but will probably put weight on with age. I suspect he'll get considerably stronger too, which should help the velocity. Danny is a good, hard-working kid. The fact that he is such good friends with Barrett Serrato speaks volumes to me. Barrett is the most humble and most talented kid I've ever coached and from everything I know, Danny is cut from the same mold. As far as signabiltiy goes, I don't know. I know a number i always heard batted around was 100K + 8 semesters. (Honsetly, I can't think right now where he's going to college) But I'm not sure he can get that in the 37th round. 1115 Danny Jimenez - St. Charles North HS

He also didn't hit above .336 in his 3 years at UCLA. He also will probably be moving to 2nd base. I think I like Dan Descalso as a prospect more than Curtis.
