Gorgen’s been filthy at UCI, and you guys better enjoy him!

Yeah, he’s small, and that might not translate well to the majors, but his stuff is wicked and in the big games he’s composed as hell.

Irvine’s still in the tourney, and Gorgen’s pitching Saturday against a power hitting LSU, in case you’re interested in seeing your new prospect.

Curtis’s swing reminds me a bit of Soriano’s, but it’s hard to succeed with a swing that long; Soriano is the exception. I know the scouts say his arm won’t play at third, but I’m hoping that first throw in the scouting video is just an optical illusion, because that looks like a throw Eckstein would laugh at. The rest of his throws don’t look anything like that.

I don’t mind the pick, but I think he’s gonna fail miserably. Results are there, but I really don’t see them translating.
