• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

Relievers, relievers, relievers

No more worries about getting Ryan Perry anymore. I would’ve liked him in the supplemental round. Meanwhile, is Tim Melville getting Brady Quinned?

  1. Both Melville and Friedrich…..If Melville is there in the sandwich do you fork up the money for him?

  2. i would, if hes there

  3. slusher-yes, but I think SD pops him right now. Friedrich that is.

  4. Pay what you must for a good sandwich.

  5. Odorizzi!

  6. Not San Diego.

  7. i guess scouts were a lot more concerned with his control than what we thought. i can believe he hasnt been taken.

  8. that was supposed to say “CANT believe”

  9. how ’bout a thread on pick 39?

  10. Oh, there will be talk. I’m resting a little. heh.

  11. It looks like we might have a shot at Odorizzi or Melville in the supp. round at this point, which is absolutely shocking!

  12. It’s getting more and more likely that Melville, Odorizzi, and/or Collier is sitting there at 39.

  13. erik,
no intention to make you work any harder than you already are. i appreciate all the work. you and the others here at this site have made this draft exciting. thanks.

  14. Indians spring on the felon.

  15. My vote is for Collier

  16. Mine is for any of the 3 guys, collier being my fav, just please let it be a high schooler, after taking the sure thing at 13 use 39 for a high risk high reward.

  17. agreed. Thanks so much for all the work you guys are putting in on coverage.

  18. Any of the 3 would be gold

Hunt and Scheppers are also both available, correct?

  19. How about Gillaspie? The guy can rake, and is a candidate to switch to 2B. . .a Wallace/Gillaspie front end of the draft would create ripples in the NL Central around 2010.

  20. I’m not crazy about Collier myself. His power will be limited because he’s so early on his weight transfer and I think you have to reconstruct his entire swing to fix that problem.

  21. I realize Scheppers is injured. Any word on Hunt?

  22. I don’t like Gillaspie either. College 3Bs don’t transition to pro 2Bs, and I don’t think you put a supplemental pick into a guy who might work out and be Bill Mueller.

  23. Id rather take a HS player with the pick, but hunt and scheppers, i wouldnt complain much.

  24. I’ve seen Gillaspie play a couple of times, and I don’t like him much, either. Mueller is a good comparison, as when he was healthy he was a good line drive hitter, but really only had a couple good MLB seasons. I don’t see Gillaspie as a big league 3B - not enough power. I would like Gillaspie in the 3d or 4th round, but not as high as people have been talking.

  25. We are ten picks out from the Supp pick. Anybody have a list of their ten best available at this point?

    I’ll start:

    Melville
    Odirizzi
    Collier
    ???
