I’ve heard Weeks’ name bandied about at Oakland, seems quite reachy for my tastes. Now the Cards are in a good position. Do they choose the safe, polished college bat of Wallace who may not be able to stay at 3B? Or do they go boom or bust with Hicks? Friedrich? Someone else?
I’m bouncing off the walls right now.

Hicks. Let’s go boom. D.GOOCH
Ryan Perry
just kidding
YES!
It’s Wallace!
Brett Wallace, welcome to the Cardinals!!!!!!!!
I am a bit disappointed.
brett wallace! great job jeff!
Wallace
If nothing else, he could be trade bait in 2 years
Wallace! Law really likes the pick. Now if he can stay at third…
D.GOOCH
He automatically becomes the highest-upside bat in our entire minor-league system, Colby included.
Now I just hope there’s a position for him beyond first base.
This is an incredible pick. I’ve seen him play quite a few times. This is just awesome.
please lose some weight and say at 3rd…please…take over for glaus in two years
I can’t argue with the pick, very low floor, maybe he’ll stick somewhere other than first.
Kevin Goldstein (12:27:17 PM PT): 13. Cardinals take Brett Wallace, Arizona State.
The Walrus! This guy can totally rake. If anyone think he’s a big league third basemen, they are borderline insane. Blue Jays are currently throwing things around the room.
that should read high floor
What happens to Freese and Craig now?
where does he play for the team???
I like the strategy of taking a guy who can rake and then finding a position for him. If we have to move him into left like Braun so be it.
They continue to hit, they will be just fine. Nobody will complain about too many bats. The best thing that could happen—we have a logjam at 3rd
