• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

Questions for Aaron Crow

A poster who goes by the moniker of Balkroth happens to be a Mizzou grad student with some access to the team. The nation’s top college ace Aaron Crow agreed to answer a few questions. Please post what you’d like to be asked in the comments. Balkroth and I will harvest the best ones, and the interview will appear on the site later.

Thanks, and now back to your normally scheduled DFR.

  1. Cool! Thanks to Balkroth for setting this up.

Here are a couple off the top of my head (I’m sure I’ll think of more later):

-I would like to know how much he follows the draft process; does he keep up with the BA rankings or read about himself on any draft sites?

-Does he pay attention to stats and what does he consider to be important statistics for pitchers?

  2. Ask him about the scoreless streak. Was their any extra pressure that went with that. And when he saw the wind blowing out that day against Texas, did he just personally conclude “so much for that” ?

  3. Who is is advisor and what has it been like preparing for the draft?

  4. I’m interested in how he learned to pitch. Who taught him his mechanics? And what did he have to un-learn along the way?

  5. I’d also like to ask him to give a scouting report on himself - what he thinks he does well and what he thinks he needs to improve to succeed at the next level.

  6. Ask him if he wouldn’t mind “tanking” a few starts so he will still be available at #13. I think he would look great in red!

  7. It would be interesting to know if he has patterned himself after any big league pitcher(s) and if so, who are they?

  8. How many scouts, for how many teams, have been in contact with him?
