• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

  1. ACT test question and answer

Tanner Scheppers is to Matt Garza

    as

    Gordon Beckham is to ???

As Barney would say on How I Met Your Mother……wait for it…wait for it

    Evan Longoria!

  2. how about Aaron Murphree of Arkansas? last year he only batted .243. this year he has 12 homers in 12 games, batting .447/.500/1.298 (!!!) Lefty swinging senior, OF/LF, 6-5, 235, decent speed.

  3. That’s funny, I actually filled Few in on Murphree over at the Post Dispatchs forums. I live in Fayetteville and have seen every game this year (the tourny in College Station was televised here) and Murphree is killing everything. He seriously reminds me of a right handed hitting Travis Hafner. He’s just big and has that “country strong” look to him. He’s had a couple HRs that weren’t even hit that well but he’s just muscled up on.

  4. Quick note, Aaron is actually of the all too common right handed hitting, left handed throwing variety.

  5. murphree hasn’t run much this year. but in juco he was 50/52. decent arm. competition is about to stiffen so we shall see.

  6. Eric: A quick update from the desert you asked about Arizona State catcher Petey Paramore I agree he is the on base machine you thought, he only hitting .242 and still has a .537 ob%, he a very good defensive catcher with good gap power. Also I think scouts are might seriously look at Ike Davis as a pitcher, he is a power lefty who in 4 app & 4.3 IP has 8 k’s this season including Arkansas’s Murphree tuesday. Finally there will be another arm to look at Jason Jarvis ASU’s closer was declared academically ineligible and will petition to enter the draft.
