• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

“One for the Birds” highlighted in WSJ

The contest that Sid introduced to the fans here, VEB and the Birdhouse has got a little buzz around bloggerdom, and now some national attention in the from of an article at the Wall Street Journal.

“We don’t have a monopoly on baseball knowledge,” says Sig Mejdal, the Cardinals’ senior quantitative analyst who helped create the contest. “Just looking at the fan sites and posting boards, you see an amazing amount of energy. Why not harness it?”

That’s pretty cool, although they don’t directly reference any of the Cardinal sites, they do talk about USS Mariner and some other great baseball blogs. Hat tip, Tango, who hat tips USSM. Hat tips all around.

  1. I agree, it’s pretty neat that they are looking at the blogs and the message boards, seeing what people are saying and what they are passionate about.

Hat tip to the Cardinals! :)

  2. Next round of hat tips on me!

    Wooo!

  3. Some brewerfans on a forum I visit were joking they would flood the Cardinal Front office with fake profiles to keep them busy. i thought that was funny.
