FR Community Projection: Jaime Garcia

Assume that Garcia’s innings all come in Springfield, which is a hitter’s park, this season. Here’s his player page at First Inning and Baseball-Reference. PLEASE COMMA DELIMIT.

I’ll be assuming 4 HBP for next season. This thread will also be open until Saturday with results on Sunday in the Prospect Stew. If you haven’t made a Jarrett Hoffpauir projection, there’s still time to do so.

    first off i want to say that if garcia spends the whole season in springfield it will be a huge disappointment. i think he is going to have a great year, but if you are assuming he spends the whole season in springfield wouldn’t you have to project bad stats or an injury?

    anyway, here goes

    p’fork-i cheated and amended mine :) i think at first i was too optimistic of the amount of innings, i figured the cardinals would manage him better then that.

    fewgoodcards - I agree. I don’t think he’ll realistically be there the whole season. The idea was to limit the impact of changing parks. In a perfect world, which this is obviously not, we could take a percentage of his innings and just translate them to Memphis to get an idea of his overall stat line but I wanted to avoid complicating the projection.

    Don’t scrutinize the math too much. The totals that should add up do, but I didn’t go to deep into making sure the math for the ERA’s is perfect.

    I never like projecting W/L since it depends more on the rest of the team. I’m curious to see how much or if they hold him back at all if he starts to get soreness or fatigue.
