• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

Introductions all around

Erik has graciously extended an invitation to me to contribute to Future Redbirds and it is my hope that I don’t drag down the quality of posting too much. I go by the name of roarke, I’m a Gemini and I like Jack and Cokes, high on-base percentages, and pitchers with a high strikeout rate. I am currently in full preparation mode for my second annual week-long trip to Cardinals Spring Training (26 days and counting until I leave) and there are very few places in the world I would rather be than in a ballpark with a scorecard in my hands. I promise that I will never use smileys or chat acronyms and will try to limit the hacky jokes (see above reference to astrological sign) to one per post. Otherwise, all bets are off.

Thanks again to Erik for letting me in on the fun.

  1. Congrats Roarke !! Look foward to reading your posts.

  2. Good stuff…..we can always use more Cowbell.

  3. who doesn’t like jack and cokes, that’s like saying you don’t like parfaits, you ever meet anybody who doesn’t like parfaits, I dare you to find someone who doesn’t like parfaits.

    welcome aboard.

  4. welcome aboard man, i made a few jack and cokes disappear tonight too.

  5. Hacky jokes are needed around here to break up the numbers. Anyway great to have you here. Can’t wait to see who you like, dislike, etc.

Also would you have time to do your own top 25 and add it up with Erik and Az’s? I know some new information about Garcia may change things but it would be nice to get a full listing from the bloggers.

  6. thanks again for joining us here, roarke.

I can tell you readers that from what conversations i’ve had with roarke, he’s more then qualified to be writing here. i’m excited about what he brings to the table and am looking forward to reading his stuff as much as you guys are.

Records are dangerous things roarke. Be careful.

  8. I prefer Gentleman Jack & Cokes. Anyway I look forward to your contributions. I am so excited by this season because of all the young guys who will get a chance. Even if the Cards record gets ugly, it will be fun to watch some of the kids establish themselves.

  9. Mmmm..boy what I wouldnt give for a cold Zima!

  10. Welcome Roarke.

Your avatar looks slightly familiar…..did you go yard against me in high school?

  11. Give me a white russian. Welcome aboard.

  12. Sidd:

Doubtful - I was more of a finesse pitcher/all glove, no bat shortstop in high school. I did have a high strikeout rate as a pitcher and a good on base percentage as a hitter, though…
