• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

What you missed. . .

. . . while you were opening presents and celebrating the new year:

On the plus side, the Cardinals’ system is going to produce more big-league value than it has in a while. There are maybe a dozen guys in their system who will at least sit on a big-league bench or pitch in middle relief. They just lack star-level prospects after the big guy.

About 4 more months until the minors start up again — stay tuned.

  1. Not to nitpick but the Cardinals signed Cliff Politte.

  2. what I find funny about Politte is that he is yet another Cardinal draftee being brought back (Looper, Kennedy).

  3. travis — i really need to start going to bed at a decent hour. . .

  4. random request

Can someone give me the link to the first thread in which Brad Furnish’s agent came in here posting comments? I searched but can only find the second one. I’m trying to evaluate Furnish for my fantasy draft is all.

    Thanks.

  5. Just 3 months from this day Memphis will have there first game and little under 2 months untill the first spring training game.

  6. AZ,

Thanks. That’s actually the one I was able to find earlier. In it, he refers to other comments he’d made in an earlier Top-20 list….which is what I remember reading, but no cannot find.

  7. This is the only other thread he’s commented on but it appears that he says the same thing. We’ve got better search filters behind the scenes that let us search on commenter names, e-mail, etc. and that was the only other thread that popped up.

  8. Thanks AZ. Maybe I’ve just confused myself here. I sure like what Furnish did in QC this year, and hope the surgery went well. Have you heard any results/prognosis?

  9. I’ve heard nothing about Furnish or Garcia moving forward. I’m more concerned about Garcia’s injury as it seemed the more serious of the two.

  10. don’t know if this is for erik or az but on the sys at a glance it shows mather as a set-up reliever. typo or Laruncan’s new pitching project?
