Obviously davenport lies on the Mississippi River, but in the early 19th century, when Davenport was then known as Fort Armstrong, the town was rampant with bandits trying to get in on the fur trade. Colonel Davenport, from whom the town was named, was beaten to death by a group of river bandits who thought he had a fortune. So, there's quite the history of river bandits in davenport and the quad cities. As for the raccoons: they're everywhere! They just inhabit neighborhoods, parks, and any of the undeveloped land in the quad cities (of which there is a lot) In undergrad, I would consistently run into raccoons walking back late from the library or from a party. And they were mean. I hope that explains some of the choices here. Rockin’ the Red: Here’s the story. I see they not only changed the team name, but now the park is called the Modern Woodman Park. That's a step back, stupid corporate sponsorships. adam…i agree, JOD is a very nice park. Just curious. Is there any historical significance to raccoons stealing stuff by the river? Just curious.

Additionally, on a warm July evening, there may be no more beautiful minor league stadium to watch a game at than at john o'donnell. being from the quad city area, and having gone to river bandit games growing up, I can say that I am happy with the name change. Breakdown the effects of trades on other clubs farm systems. For example, the trade of Cabrera and Willis to the Tigers kicked off a storm of protestation on some sites with people claiming the Cardinals could have supplied players of equal worth to those Detroit handed over. Maybe we could have done however handing over that talent would have killed our farm given it's current state. What did it do to the Detroit system? My instinct is that it made their system no worse than ours and that's why Detroit could really afford the trade and the Cards couldn't. 2. With the year about to turn and ST only weeks away let's start looking to next season. I'd love to see what the knowledgable people on this site would project as an effective season for each prospect to keep them on course to acheive the level we expect them to acheive. It would also give us something to look back on come the end of the season and judge a prospects progress. Ideas..
