For me though this becomes an organizational gripe, because two out of every three pitchers of this caliber will get ground up and discarded by Duncan as not being man enough to pitch in the big leagues. At that rate we need to get three pitchers of this caliber up every year and hope one sticks... We would come out cash ahead if we could just develop one every year or two. I'd be excited for 4, myself. CCA-

First, the sample sizes are too small. Second, I think there are guys whose stuff translates well at higher levels and others that don't. Some players are still growing physically and mentally as well as the fact that some players are able to master a new pitch and others aren't and that ususally isn't known so early in ones career. I assume these numbers are FIP based. I wonder if we should assume a guy like Boggs who I believe has been consistently better than his FIP as a mnor leaguer won't continue this in the majors? Rauschenberger doesn't surprise me much. Him, Boggs, and Parisi have been amazingly similar in their periphials over their careers. After all that, I'll say I'll be thrilled if we can develop 8 #2-#3 starters from our current minor leaguers. I wonder how this number compares to other organizations?
