• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

Reader Top 25, #6

  1. Rasmus
  2. Garcia
  3. Anderson
  4. Perez
  5. Adam Ottavino…sounds like Innagaddadavida…sorry if I put that in your head.

That was a little closer, I’m guessing the next one for you guys (and gals) will be Mortensen but I’ll let you decide. Derrick Goold is doing a reader Top 30 as well, and his Top 30 will be running at BA Nov. 30th. And some of you may know, the Birdhouse is doing a Top 50. The picture will be getting clearer from all this, I presume. Or at least the picture of public opinion.

  6. herron

he’s a year and a half younger than mortensen
has a larger sample size than mortenson
has very similar results in k/pa and bb/pa, although he does have a lower gb/fly ratio

  11. This is easy since I voted

    HERRON

    the last three spots…

  12. Herron

  13. Mortensen

  14. For me it is really tough to decide but I will have to go Herron since he has more time in then Mortensen. Mort will get my next vote though.

  19. Herron.

  20. Boggs

  21. Mortensen…based on the fact that he fits the Cards preferred prototype pitcher more than Herren, making it more likely that he will make it to the big show. While, I like Herren a lot Mortensen’s GB ratio is something to hang a hat on.

  22. Mortenson

  23. After the top 5. you can make a group 6-10 and it can be in any order.

I want to throw Martinez in the Mix. He is Young, plays a premium pos. Did well in 2A and is Tearing up the Ven. Winter league and is doing a better job then many big leaguers there.

  35. i will go out on a limb and say kozma really could go here…the fact that he is already considered a bust is premature…he was picked for a reason and if a prospect is valued on his long term worth…a potential starting ss is worth a hell of a lot. But since he wont win this one…

    Mortensen

  37. Kozma

  38. CF1, Kozma is not a bust, far from it. He just isn’t considered top 10 (well erik placed him at 8). People are not down on Koz just down on the club for picking him 18th instead of 36th or wherever we got Mort. Mort on the other hand has gone above and beyond while Koz is doing exactly what I expected, learning pro ball and struggling a bit. I think he will get his due.

  39. FWIW, I expect Kevin Goldstein to put Kozma in his top 11.
