• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

Daily Prospect Report 11/10/07

Vote for the #3 prospect.

Mesa 2, Peo Javelinas 5

  • Jarrett Hoffpauir went 2-for-4 with a run.  He stole his third base in the AFL and was caught stealing for the first time.
  • Amaury Marti went 2-for-4.
  • Mark Hamilton is having a rough go of it in Arizona as his average dropped to .167 after an 0-for-3 showing.

  1. Hoffpauir has more walks then total bases. Not shure if thats a good thing or not.

  2. At the rate he is going, in a 600 AB season, he would have 160 walks and only 147 hits.

  3. Just using those rough numbers, you’re talking about a .245 BA and a .404 OBP. Unconventional production, but that might just work as a leadoff hitter.
Obviously, the walks would come down, as ML pitchers would realize they don’t need to be that careful, but more strikes would probably translate into more hits. How about a .270 BA & a .385 OBP? Or even a .280 BA & .370 OBP? I could live with that, almost regardless of his power and with at least average defense.
