• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

Daily Prospect Report 11/2/07

Kevin Goldstein has the Boston Top 10 11. Maybe the Cardinals should target Jed Lowrie with Julio Lugo blocking him in the majors — just a thought.

Mesa 3, Surprise 10

  • Amaury Marti goes 1-for-4.
  • Mark Hamilton goes 1-for-3 with a double and a BB.
  • Luke Gregerson threw 1.2 innings allowing 3 hits for 1 run. He also struck out 3 batters. I imagine his location was a little off since he hasn’t pitched for a while (he’s the replacement for McClellan).
  • Jason Motte threw a pair of innings allowing 1 hit and striking out 1.

  1. Jose Martinez is hitting .314 with 5 of his 11 hits coming for extra bases in the VWL.

  2. Good to see Martinez’s power continuing but what is really important is how many walks he has. This is where he needs to improve.

  3. Does anyone think the cardinals might sign Tomohiro Nioka out of japan to play SS. He is a little old, but from what I have herd it wont take much to sign him.

And maybe we will sign one of these pitchers to give him some one to talk to. Koji Uehara, Hiroki Kuroda, Kenshin Kawakami, Hitoki Iwase, Masahide Kobayashi, and Kazumi Saito.
