He always was an outfielder but maybe the Cards had him try it? He does have a great arm. I played with Travis at high school and I never seen or heard of him playing catcher. In a lot of cases, the same play is scored as a PO as well as a CS. If you check the game log, you'll see that Ingram only got caught once (picked off and then tagged out at second). Hill, on the other hand, did get caught twice (picked off on one play and then caught stealing on another). Man, I can't believe I looked into this - I definitely have too much time on my hands. We've seen Alvarado and Mulligan get time behind the plate. Silent George - I can’t recall Mitchell starting at C off the top of my head but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t. Is this a new position for him, or have I just not been observant? I see that Travis Mitchell caught for JC. Is this a new position for him, or have I just not been observant?

He's second in the Appy League in batting average, and the guy who leads the league is 3 1/2 years older. Edgar Lara is hitting .256/.326/.538/.864 for the GCL Cards. We're talking about a pair of 18-year-old corner outfielders (Ripper turns 19 next month), both 6-3 and 200+ pounds. We may not have good teams at that level, but we do have some guys who look like players. Looking hard for good news:
