• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

7/9/07 Daily Prospect Report

Mike Smith and Nick Additon were named pitchers of the week for their respective leagues. Additon, if you remember was selected in the 2006 draft and was a draft and follow.

Colby Rasmus made the “not-so-hot” mention on BA’s latest “Hot Sheet“.

The 2005 first-round pick appeared on his way out of an early-season slump when his batting average reached .300 at the start of June, but has since steadily dropped by hitting .194/.308/.388 for the month. He’s at .258/.354/.513 and headed into the Futures Game by going 4-for-5 a home run and five RBIs on Friday, ending a 1-for-17 stretch over his previous five games.

Rasmus along with Bryan Anderson were not in tonight’s lineup for Springfield, they got stuck in the Dallas airport.

More Colby, Top Prospect Alert has their mid-season prospect rankings, putting Rasmus the #15th prospect in the minors. They had Anderson and #90 and Jaime Garcia at #93. Project Prospect ranks the Razzle at #6

  1. Just an FYI for all those who are interested in Jess Todd, Mr. Gomez does a breakdown of him over at THT. They need to have some of these college pitcher start in at least Quad Cities.

  2. Montgomery, Ala. – On Wednesday, Auburn University Montgomery catcher Paul Vazquez of Columbus, Ga. signed a free agent contract with the St. Louis Cardinals organization. Vazquez finished his junior season as a Senator batting .416 and set a new school single-season record for doubles with 25. He struck out just nine times in 254 plate appearances and drove in 63 RBI with 10 home runs.

Behind the plate, Vazquez started 60 of the Senators 64 games and committed just four errors with nine passed balls. He also threw out 23 of the 53 attempted stolen bases against him.
