In his first full year, Lambert was promoted after just 10 starts at Palm Beach and has never been the same. Maybe they're going to let Ott get a full season in at PB and let him build confidence... If Ottavino is succeeding, he should move up. Especially given how dismal Rauschenberger has been. I'd love to see Ott spend the second have in AA and then repeat next year there to start. No problem with that. I just don't think he needs to be in a pitchers park in A-ball any longer. re: SS ball, that’s a good point and could very well be the case.

I wonder if they're holding off to get the guys at SS a few more innings before they move them up to Quad Cities, then do a domino move-up. Ottavino last year had 28.2 innings in SS before they moved him up. Right now, Todd has 16 and Mortensen has 10, and to me those seem like the obvious 2 to get moved up. Maybe they want to get them a few more innings before doing a 2-3 level move-up. Also, Ottavino will be 22 the entire season next year, and I have to think they'd like him to spend the entire year at AA. Figure half a season at AAA (best-case scenario), and he'd make the show at 23, which is still pretty young. That probably has a lot to do with their hesitancy to move him quickly. But, given all those rumblings about TLR (and presumably Duncan) stepping down after this year, Reyes may well get that different environment in St. Louis next year. And you gotta figure his trade value is way down. I'm not opposed to trading him in the right deal, but I'm not sure it's necessary. Apparently the powers that be don't think either one is ready yet... It would seem that he’s just holding a place until the next guy from Palm Beach (Ottavino, Norrick) is “ready” for AA. What do they need to see to know that he's NOT WORKING OUT! Can we get Rauschenberger out of the bleepin’ rotation already? What do they need to see to know that he’s NOT WORKING OUT!
