Unless requested by popular demand, I won’t be including the VSL games in the daily report, mostly because I have no idea what I’d be looking at. The way the VSL works is that players are welcome to all players in Latin America not from the DR for Puerto Rico. Another factoid per Wiki about the VSL:
Each team has a roster limit of 35 active players: no more than 12 players 20 years of age or older, and no more than four players 21 years of age or older. At least 10 must be pitchers, as of July 1. No player on active list may have more than four years of minor league service.
The VSL Cardinals have no old players, everyone of their players on the roster is under 20. They have one 16 year old player and more then half of the rest of the roster is 17. That strikes me as a good sign, you don’t want a bunch of old prospects beating up on teenagers. You can check for updates on the VSL team here.
I can’t say definitively, but I believe it’s through leagues like this that the Cards have found slick-fielding infielers Jose Martinez, Donovan Solano and Juan Lucena. Someone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.
Anywho, even if I don’t include the VSLers in the daily report, I will at least take a look at their results perhaps mid season, and certainly when they are done.

Eric:
I tried to find an email for you quickly and failed. I assume that you get ours when we comment. Please email me as I’m heading to a Springfield and Memphis game first of the month and want to know how I can help with a pair of eyes to check things out.
