• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

4/29/07 Daily Prospect Report

First and foremost, heartfelt condolences to the Hancock family, and to the Cardinals on the loss of Josh Hancock. What a sad and tragic loss. I don’t really know what to say, it hurts on a personal level because you see these guys and root for them, but you don’t really know them. Even so, they become important people to you, and one of the things that attracts players to St. Louis is because it’s almost a family atmosphere. I know from experience that losing a loved one is the most painful experiences you can possibly imagine. God bless the Hancock family, and God bless the Cardinal organization. May they all be comforted.

  1. I have a feeling we’re going to be hearing a lot about Elvis Hernandez this season. He’s off to a fantastic start.

  2. this is a horrible thing to think about, but who do you think the caridanls will bring up?

  3. Liam-Elvis is putting up some pretty good numbers, plus he has the added bonus of being named Elvis.

Tnek5-It is hard to think about. My guess would be Dennis Dove, who lasted in camp as long as Jimenez.

  4. I wouldn’t like to be the guy replacing Josh Hancock on the roster.

  5. I think they have to bring up a starter because, remember, the sent down a starter, Keisler, and brought up a reliever, Jimenez, last week. If they did bring up a reliever, though, I think it will be Falkenborg. He did see some big league time last year and he does already have 7 saves. Starter wise, I thought they were going to bring up Narveson but he did pitch yesterday. Hawksworth has struggled. Maybe they moved Cate to the rotation to replace Keisler in St. Louis? I almost think it might be Mike Smith. But your guess is as good as mine.

  6. Erik, what’s the scouting report on Joe Mather? I realize he’s a 24 year old in AA, but the dude is absolutely raking right now.

  7. MikeJ-I wish I knew. Seems like he has pretty good contact/power combo, not much in ways of discipline but not awful. I’ve asked Kary Booher at Springfield News-Leader on his thoughts on Mather, he hasn’t got back to me just yet but I’ll let you know when I know.
