• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

4/24/07 Daily Prospect Report

All day games have already been played today with the exception of Springfield. Check back tonight for the update. Springfield was rained out.

Memphis Redbirds 8, Omaha Royals 7

  • This game was a slug fest, with 30 total hits in the game between the teams.
  • Rick Ankiel homered yet again, his 7th of the year. He went 2 for 3 with a walk.
  • Edgar Gonzalez, Jolbert Cabrera and Rico Washington all went 2 for 4.
  • Matt Ginter gave up 5 runs on 13 hits in 4.2 innings.
  • Mike Sillman walked 3, gave up 1 hit and allowed 2 runs in 1.1.

Palm Beach 3, Daytona Cubs 0

  • Trey Hearne was due for a good outing. Hearne pitched 7 scoreless innings, struck out 6 and allowed only 3 hits. He also didn’t walk a man.
  • Allen Craig went 2 for 4.
  • Dan Nelson went 0 for 2 with 2 walks.
  • The Cardinal lineup had 5 hits and drew 3 walks in 5.1 innings against top Cub pitching prospect/ex-Irish wide out Jeff Samardzija.
  • Ex-catcher turned closer Jason Motte struck out 1, allowed 1 hit and no runs while picking up his 3rd save of the season. For more on the transformation of Motte, click here.

Fort Wayne 1, QC 0

  • It was Andrew Miller’s day. No, not the #1 pick of the Tigers from last season. This Miller was picked in the 37th round by the Padres. He certainly looked like a 2nd day steal today, fanning 11 in 7 innings, walking just 1 and not allowing a hit. The Wizard pitchers combined for a 1 hit shutout.
  • P. J. Walters pitched 5 innings of 1 hit ball, while K’ing 3 and not allowing a walk.
  • Elvis Hernandez gave up the only run of the game, he threw 2.1 innings and gave up a 3 hits with no walks, while striking out 2.
