It was bring-your-run-scoring-bat night in Springfield and Quad Cities as you’ll see in a moment. On to the report!
Memphis 6, New Orleans 7 (Mets Affiliate)
The Good
- Rick Ankiel goes 2-for-4 and NEITHER was a homerun.
- Ryan “I could help the Cardinal’s bench now” Ludwick goes 3-for-4 with 2 HRs.
- Troy Cate pitched 2 scoreless innings with 1 K.
- Andy Cavazos pitched a scoreless inning with 1 K
The Bad
- Journeyman Matt Ginter should not get a whiff of the majors this year as he gives up 5 ER and 10 hits in 2.2 IP.
- Brendan Ryan is 4-for-31 in his last 8 games and went 1-for-4 today.
- Tagg Bozied goes 1-for-4 and is batting a woeful .170 thus far in Memphis.
Springfield 13, Tulsa 1 (Rockies’ Affiliate)
The Good
- Colby Rasmus goes 3-for-5 with a HR.
- Joe Mather goes 2-for-4 with a walk.
- Every position player except for 2B Juan Lucena recorded an RBI in todays game.
- Eric Haberer goes 5 IP with 1 ER (but walks 4 and hits 2).
- The defense turned 4 double plays.
The Bad
- They won 13 to 1 — what more do you want?
Palm Beach 1, Brevard County 3 (Brewer’s Affiliate)
The Good
- Adam Daniels was excellent going 8 IP with 1 ER, 7Ks, 0 BBs and 13 of his outs on balls in play were on the ground. This builds off his last outing which was 7 IP with 1 ER, 7Ks and 0BBs.
- Allen Craig goes 3-for-4.
The Bad
- The offense couldn’t string hits together tonight and cost Dainels the victory (for whatever reason this reminds me of Clemens and the Astros offense from the last few years).
- Also appearing in the “why we didn’t win” column reliever Michael Cooper who is charged with the loss after allowing 2 runs in relief.
Quad Cities 15, Dayton 4 (Red’s Affiliate)
The Good
- Brandon Buckman (his 4th), Christian Lopez and Jaime Landin (who was a single short of the cycle) all go deep.
- The offense draws 10 BBs on the night and forces Dayton (who was previously unbeaten) to use 6(!) different pitchers.
- Brandon Dickson pitches 4 innings with no earned runs (1 unearned) for the win.
The Bad
- Blake King has had better days - 3.1 IP,3 ER, 6K, 2BB
- Ummm they won 15-4. Not much complaining here.

Apologies again for the break in posts this weekend — I’m off to University of Arkansas on Friday to watch a bunch robots move soda cans. No, seriously.
We’ll be back soon with your Daily Prospect Reports.

You know, between J-Rod and Ludwick, I’m really wondering what the hell this team is thinking having Skip and Tags (and P-dub) over them.
