• Amaury Marti Watch

Amaury Marti is currently hitting .424/.509/.633 in 39 games for the Mexican Red Devils of the Mexican League, also known as Liga de Amaury Cazana. Bud Selig ordered the Cardinals to banish him to there, in fear of the major leagues losing competitive balance.

Amaury also refuses to accept the watch curse. He has the power to curse, and the power to bless.

Daily Prospect Report 4/18/07

Quick run through tonight as final exams are rolling around to ruin my sports watching/writing fun.

Day off for AA Springfield.

Memphis 6, New Orleans 7

The Good

  • Edgar Gonzalez goes 2-for-4 with a walk. He seems like he would be a capable second base replacement offensively — the wrap has always been that he can’t handle the defense.
  • Ludwick goes 3-for-4 including a HR.
  • Ankiel hits a homerun for his only hit.

The Bad

  • Narveson goes 6 innings but has a pretty ugly line: 7 hits, 3 BBs, 2HR and 6 ER. He did strikeout 9, however. Kind of an unusual mix there — he had more outs via the K than flyouts and groundouts combined (7).
  • Error on Jimenez and 2IP but an unearned run. Not awful but some sloppy play.

Palm Beach 6, St. Lucie 5

The Good

  • HR by Mark Hamilton.
  • Robinson and Southard both go 2-for-5 from the one and two hole, respectively. Each had a double as well.
  • 4 shutout innings of relief pitching allow Palm Beach to pick up the win.

The Bad

  • Trey Hearne gets roughed up again. 5IP, 10 hits, 2BB while allowing 5 ER .

Quad Cities 2, Dayton 5

The Good

The Bad

  • The offense was untimely - the Swing record 9 hits and 1 BB but can only push two men across home plate.
  • Michael Schellinger gives up 4 ER in 4IP.
  • Despite only allowing a run Shaun Garceau had 6 baserunners in his three innings pitched. Watch that WHIP Shaun. . .
