The slumping Tagg Bozied hit a 3 run homer in the 8th inning to bring the team within a run of tying.
Mike Sillman struck out 2 in 2 innings of scoreless relief, allowing a hit and a walk.
Mike Smith allowed 6 runs over 6 innings, allowing 10 hits and a HR.
As I mentioned earlier, Chris Lambert gave up back to back to back solo home runs. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits and a walk, striking out only 1. He also threw a wild pitch.
Tyler Greene homered, going 1 for 3.
Bryan Anderson doubled, going 1 for 3 for the day. He is currently has a .347 GPA in 28 plate appearances.
Jon Jay went 0 for 4 with 2 strikeouts.
Colby Rasmus also went 0 for 4 with a K.
Adam Ottavino rebounded nicely from his last start, pitching 6 scoreless innings, striking out 4 while walking 1 and allowing 6 hits. He had 9 ground outs to 4 fly outs.
Former Arkansas standout Casey Rowlett went 4 for 4, a homer shy from hitting for the cycle. He also was caught stealing.
23 year old switch hitting utility man Daniel Nelson continues to rake. He went 3 for 4 with a walk including a triple. He is currently hitting for a GPA of .378 and has walked 12 times in 44 plate appearances. Nelson was a 13th round pick in the 2004 draft.
Nate Southard went 1 for 2 with 2 walks.
Sean Danielson went 2 for 4.
Shane Robinson went 0 for 5. He’s currently only hitting .205.
Recently converted reliever Nick Webber struck out 3 in 2 scoreless innings pitched, allowing only 1 hit.
Dayton 3, QC 0 (Dayton is an affiliate of the Reds)
Tyler Herron started the game, going 4 innings and striking out 5. He allowed 3 runs off of 5 hits and a walk. He got six outs on the ground to 1 fly.
Brad Furnish struck out 4 over three scoreless innings, walking one and allowing one hit.
Kenny Maiques threw a scoreless inning in relief, striking out one and allowing a hit.
Donavon Solano went 2 for 4.
Luke Gorsett went 2 for 2 with a walk.
19 year old infielder Christian Lopez went 2 for 3 and stole a base. Lopez currently has a .365 GPA 25 plate appearances.
